Notes:
John Callcott Horsley was born in 1817 in London, England. He was a British academic painter of genre and historical scenes, as well as an illustrator. He was designer of the first commercially available Christmas card, in 1843. He was a member of the artist's colony in Cranbrook. John Callcott Horsley died in 1903 in London.
