John Bulunbulun was born in 1946 in Arnhem Land, Australia. He was a ceremonial leader and singer, and trained with his father, George Mipurru, an acclaimed bark painter. Bulunbulun's paintings and prints have been exhibited widely throughout Australia and internationally. He died in 2010.
