Being sold on behalf of Grandmothers 4 Grandmothers Regina with 90% of the winning bid going to this Saskatchewan charity. Artist card attached verso indicating an original price of $460.
Notes:
John Abbott was born in Bradford, England in 1949, and emigrated to Canada with his parents in 1952. Raised in Kingston, Ontario, he was a commercial pilot and then joined the Royal Canadian Air Force where his last posting was in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. Since 1980 Abbott has lived in Calgary, Alberta, and devoted himself to landscape painting after retirement, and he has been a member of the Federation of Canadian Artists since 2015.
