Jerry Whitehead was born in 1957 on the James Smith First Nation, in Saskatchewan. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Saskatchewan Indian Federated College (University of Regina, now the First Nations University of Canada) and a BFA from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design (Halifax). Jerry Whitehead currently lives and works in Vancouver, British Columbia.
