Janet Cardiff (B. 1957) is a Canadian artist who works chiefly with sound and sound installations; especially a form she calls audio walks. Cardiff's training is in photography and printmaking and her early works were large-scale silkscreens that evoked challenging figurative compositions as seen in these works. She works in collaboration with her husband and partner George Bures Miller. Cardiff's work began to include elements of narrative sequencing, experiments with sound, and movement after their first joint work in 1983. Their multidisciplinary works have been shown at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, MOMA PS1, National Gallery of Canada, among many others. Cardiff and Miller are currently represented by Luhring Augustine
