Notes:
Jan Korthals was born in Amsterdam in 1916. He studied at the Academy Der Schone Kunsten in Antwerp and at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam. He lived and worked mostly in Amsterdam and Antwerp and was a member of the Amsterdam Saint Lucas artist's society, specializing in impressionist cityscapes. He died in 1973 in Amsterdam.
