ARTIST STATEMENT
Most important to me in my work is the expression and exploration of texture and colour. I work to create vibrant and inviting pieces through methods of layering and mixed media applications. To create succulent, warm, vivid and inviting work is my objective, whether I create a predominantly pastel, oil or acrylic painting.
One of my favorite experiences is going to the Farmer's Market. I come home with my canvas bag full of colourful fruits, vegetables, breads and cheeses all loving picked out from a small independent grower. I like to lay my purchases out on the table, arrange them in pleasing ways and take many pictures. To paint them, is a conversation with a higher being.
I studied Fine Arts at the University of Alberta, University of Hawaii and Emily Carr College of Art and Design and now ACAD. I am currently exploring natural dye materials and working with Fibre.
Most realised prices include the Buyer's Premium of 18-25%, but not the HST/GST Tax.
