Note: Isobel Rae was an Australian nurse working as a volunteer with the Canadian/Australian medical core under a Canadian Orthopedic Surgeon, Major Charles E. Preston. Dr. Preston acquired the present work from the artist while in France, c.1914. This pastel depicts a wedding procession lead by a French sailor and his bride to be. The figure standing in the open doorway is the artist.
