INNUKJUAKJU PUDLAT (1913-1972)
Printmaker: IYOLA KINGWATSIAK (1933-2000)
CAPE DORSET, Eskimo Mother and Children
1960 #11, stonecut, 27/50
16.75 x 11.75 in, 42.5 x 29.8 cm
Exhibited in the international travelling show The Inuit Print (Ottawa: National Museum of Man, 1977, cat. ill. #9).
As was often the case in the early years of Cape Dorset printmaking, this charming image was "distilled" from a more complex original graphite drawing by the artist. Innukjuakju was the wife of Pudlo Pudlat. Fifteen prints designed by her were issued between 1960 and 1968.
Most realised prices include the Buyer's Premium of 18-25%, but not the HST/GST Tax.
