From the portfolio Ten Photographers, compiled in 1978 by and for the Women's Campaign Fund in a limited edition of 75. Portfolio 41/75 is held by the Library of Congress (Washington), another is held by The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston.
Notes:
Inge Morath was born in Graz, Austria, in 1923. After World War II, Morath worked as a translator and journalist, and she met photographer Ernst Haas in post-war Vienna. They worked together for Heute magazine, often with Morath writing articles to accompany Haas' photos. In 1949 Morath was invited to join Magnum Photos, working mostly as an editor at first. In 1953 she was invited to join Magnum as a photographer and her work started appearing in publications such as Paris Match and Vogue. Morath's work has been featured in solo exhibitions around the world including Art Institute of Chicago, Union of Photojournalists (Moscow), Sala del Canal Museum (Mardid), Aperture Foundation (New York), Tokyo Museum of Photography, and Leica Gallery (New York). Inge Morath died in 2002, in New York.
