This sale of important Chinese Art is from the esteemed collection of S.K. Lee, a prominent criminal lawyer in Singapore. S.K. Lee moved to Vancouver in 1977 and in addition to his legal expertise, he was multi-talented and had a lifelong passion for the arts, music and education. He made significant donations to a variety of organizations in Vancouver, including the S.K. Lee College at the Vancouver Academy of Music, the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Chinese Classical Garden, the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, the B.C. Cancer Foundation, as well as endowments for the Chinese Cultural Center of Greater Vancouver, the B.C. Chinese Music Association and the Vancouver Academy of Music. Additionally, he created numerous scholarships and made significant philanthropic contributions. Lee was committed to his family, community and the continued education of the next generation.
