Born in Montreal, Horace Champagne trained in design, graphic arts and fine arts, studying at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts, Mtl.; the Ottawa School of Art where he also taught; workshops by Charles Movalli in New England; with Daniel Greene in North Salem, New York. Working in oils, water colours and pastels, he has focused his attention on dry pastels in recent years and has produced an impressive body of work which includes still lifes, landscapes and street scenes. He has made sketching trips across Canada, Europe and Eastern United States. He has held many solo shows, which include: Au Vieux Fort, Mtl. (1971); Wallack Galleries, Ott.
