Helen Rogers was employed as an Art teacher with the Edmonton Public School Board from 1970 - 2001. In addition to taking University courses in drawing, painting, printmaking, photography and Art History, she has continually expanded her art skills by taking watercolor workshops in Oregon and Qualicum Beach, art welding classes at Red Deer College, clay workshops and classes at U of A Extension, and numerous other workshops in stained glass, cement, ice carving and styrofoam sculpture. Upon retiring, Rogers discovered the medium of mosaics, especially mosaic sculpture.
