Born to Tilsonburg, Ontario photographer James Pollard, Harry moved to Alberta in in 1899 where he set up his own studio. In 1924 he became photographer for The Associated Screen News, a division of Canadian Pacific Railways and is also noted for his portraiture documenting the First Nations of the Blackfoot Confederacy living in Canada - the Tsuu T'ina Nation, the Siksika Nation and the Kainai Nation.
