Glenn Olson was born and raised on a ranch near Shaunavon, Saskatchewan. 1945. He studied education at the University of Saskatchewan (Saskatoon) and art at the University of Calgary. Olson taught school in Calgary from 1967 to 1985, when he transitioned to creating art full time. He considers observation an essential element of his art making, and is devoted to studying his subjects in their environments. Glenn Olson lives in Cochrane, Alberta.
