Includes a copy of 1977 receipt from Craddock and Barnard (London UK) stating that "The above are original artists etchings' over 100 years old". From the Gary Robertson Historical Print Collection (Regina). This piece is also in the permanent collection of the Yorkshire Museum, The Fitzwilliam Museum (Cambridge) and the British Museum (London).
Notes:
George Cuitt the Younger was born in 1779 in Richmond, Yorkshire, the only son of painter George Cuitt the Elder. He also became a painter but soon gravitated toward etching. As an accomplished draftsman and etcher, Cuitt created several series focusing on historical buildings of England. He died in 1854 in Masham, England.
