Gelineau Fisher was born in 1951 in northwestern Ontario, a member of the Long Lake 58 First Nation. He was an Anishinaabe Ojibwe traditional woodlands artist. For many years he lived on his ancestral lands off of Raynar Lake, Ontario. From the late 1970s, Gelineau was a professional artist working in a wide range of mediums, acrylic and watercolour, but also making birch bark canoes, baskets, and cedar paddles. .He participated in many groups shoes in Ontario and Alberta, and how work can be found in many private collections throughout Canada and the US. Gelineau Fisher died in 2015, in Longlac, Ontario.
