Fred Bruemmer was a Canadian Latvian photographer who traveled throughout Arctic regions. He was a researcher and published countless articles for National Geographic, Canadian Geographic and other nature oriented publications. His famous photo of a white harp seal was featured in the book Photographs that Changed the World.

Camp at Bathurst is reproduced in Arctic Memories, Living with the Inuit by Fred Bruemmer, page 86.
