Frank Paul Vigil was born in 1921 at the Jicarilla Apache reservation in Dulce, New Mexico. He specialized in images of horse, including the wild horses which were abundant in his area of the Southwest United States. Vigil's works were widely exhibited in the US, and can be found in the permanent collections of the Denver Art Museum, Museum of Northern Arizona, Southwest Museum of the North American Indian and the Minneapolis Institute of Art. Frank Vigil died in 1979.
