Notes:
Accompanying this lot is a hand-written letter from the artist addressed to its original owner, dated May 18th, 1983. In the letter, Frank Panabaker explains that the sketch for this canvas was done " while my wife and I were camping in the Bow River Valley about ten miles above Lake Louise Station under Mt. Hector...from our campsite the Bow River Valley was spread out below us - to our right the Bow Lakes a few miles away and to our left...Mt. Temple. It is possible Mt. Temple is the mountain in the hazy background." He goes on to explain that the guide who was to come back for them in two weeks went on a drinking binge and forgot about them, forcing them to walk to Lake Louise Station when they began to run out of food.
Most realised prices include the Buyer's Premium of 18-25%, but not the HST/GST Tax.
