Provenance:
Acquired by the present Private Collection, Ontario, 1972
Notes:
In 1973, this painting was conserved by Mervyn Ruggles, Head of Restoration & Conservation Laboratory, National Gallery of Canada. At the time, an EDX analysis of the pigments was carried out. The result showed only pigments that had been used "since antiquity," so no conclusion as to the exact date of the completion of the painting could be drawn.
