Iby Koerner has been a longtime Vancouverite and patron of the Arts since immigrating from Vienna with her husband Otto Koerner in 1939. She served in a number of voluntary organizations related to arts and education, and was founding Chair of the Vancouver School of Music. She is listed in the BC Entertainment Hall of Fame as an outstanding patron of the Arts, and was awarded Officer of the Order of Canada in December 1971 for service to the Arts.
