Provenance: Private Collection, Calgary
This work was made specifically for the consignor by E. B. Cox, on one of her weekend visits to his property outside Toronto. The consignor, a new gemologist at the time, worked as an assistant teacher at Central Technical School, Toronto, where Cox was taking an evening gemology course. Working with a chainsaw at first, and refining the piece afterward, she watched him create the work, and it has been in her collection since.
Most realised prices include the Buyer's Premium of 18-25%, but not the HST/GST Tax.
