Douglas Elliott (1916-2012) was raised in Woodstock, Ontario. As an avid outdoor painter he loved capturing the feel of the seasons and documenting rural landscapes and East Coast fishing communities in a loose impressionistic style. He was a member of the Ontario Institute of Painters and had over 50 solo exhibitions across Canada His work is held in private and public collections around the world.
