From the University of Regina, President's Art Collection, Shumiatcher Donation. Collection of Dr. Morris C. Shumiatcher, O.C., S.O.M., Q.C. and Dr. Jacqui Clay Shumiatcher, O.C., S.O.M. This piece was acquired at the 1991 solo show Myth and Mask at the Joe Moran Gallery, Regina.
Notes:
Deborah Pinard graduated from the Kootenay School of Art in 1979. After graduation, she worked at a production pottery studio in Alberta and was involved in the digging and processing of clay in southern Saskatchewan. Pinard lived in Saskatoon in the 1980s, and later taught ceramics at the David Thompson University Centre in Nelson, British Columbia. Her work tends to reflect the ancient and magical past, often representing mythical creatures, and has been exhibited widely in Western Canadian, including the Joe Moran Gallery (Regina) and the Saskatchewan Craft Council Gallery (Saskatoon).
