A superb example by an artist whose scrimshaw skills remained undiminished after five decades. Itulu learned his trade in the 1940s; he enjoyed working alongside his cousin Sheokjuk Oqutaq during that artist's years in Kimmirut. For a comparable early example by Itulu in the National Gallery Collection, see Ingo Hessel, Inuit Art: An Introduction, ill. #71.
Most realised prices include the Buyer's Premium of 18-25%, but not the HST/GST Tax.
