Lot description - from the online catalogue*

Provenance:
Private Collection, Toronto
Notes:
Using 3D printing techniques, Toronto-born artist David Drebin places his usual subject, a femme fatale, inside a moulded acrylic teardrop. Drebin refers to this series as "photo sculptures,Á an offshoot of his main photographic practice. Recurring themes are explored in this work, including the artificial and fleeting nature of love, glamour and trauma as both deeply connected and performative. In this sculpture, desire and sadness are personified by the sparkly gold body of an idealized young woman, dressed to the nines, who tumbles through space, trapped forever in a teardrop. Perhaps she represents a lost love, a missed connection or a damsel in distress?
Most realised prices include the Buyer's Premium of 18-25%, but not the HST/GST Tax.
