Provenance:
From the estate of Rick Harvey (1941-2021), professor in the English Department of the University of Regina for 40 years, whose art collection focused on Saskatchewan paintings and ceramics, often from artists he knew personally.
Notes:
Daniel Gautier was born in Longueuil, Quebec in 1957. He studied art in Montreal and Europe, and began visiting the Magdalen Islands in the 1970s, finally establishing himself there in 1993. He later spent half of each your in Hudson, Quebec. Gautier's work has been featured in many solo and group exhibitions, and can be found in many important collections including Indigenous and Northern Affairs Canada, Natural Resources Canada, the French Consulate in Montreal, the National Assembly of Quebec, and the Acadian Museum of Quebec.
