Provenance:
From the estate of Rick Harvey (1941-2021), professor in the English Department of the University of Regina for 40 years, whose art collection focused on Saskatchewan paintings and ceramics, often from artists he knew personally.
Notes:
Elly Danica was born in the Netherlands in 1947, and her family immigrated to Canada in 1952 settling in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. Danica was a visual artists, specializing in weaving, and a renowned author. Her 1988 memoir "Don’t - A Woman’s Word" was an important, widely recognized account of child abuse. In 1998 Elly Danica moved to Nova Scotia, and she died in 2021, in Lunenberg, Nova Scotia.
