Lot description - from the online catalogue*
Charles Bragg was an American sculptor, painter, artist and author known best for his satirical artwork. He was born in St. Louis, Missouri in 1931, and grew up traveling with his parents who were vaudeville performers. As a teen, he studied at New York's High School of Music and Art. Although he started as a portrait painter, Bragg's success came from his humourous and satirical work, which often portrayed flaws in American society. His political opinions also are often featured in the work. Bragg has referred to himself as a "devoted student of the human race".
Most realised prices include the Buyer's Premium of 18-25%, but not the HST/GST Tax.
