Notes:
Charles Hudson was born in the Poplar River First Nation, in Manitoba. His work is often involves coded symbols and references. For instance, an orb will represent the sun which in turn represents the creator, and every black strand leaving the sun represents a life journey, with the wavering in the lines representing the oppositions we face in life. In Hudson's work male figures have braids down the back, women with braids on the side, girls have pig-tails and boys with two braids.
