Notes:
An early interest in sculpture led Calum Colvin to create unique assemblages of 'constructed photography', which are small sets created using various objects to resemble domestic interiors.

The constructed sets of the Cenotaph create a dizzying sense of continuum but are not without a sense of horizon and spatial disposition. The triptych is on a large scale, nearly life size. The result is a presentation to the viewer to enter the sets and wander around. If one does look closer, one sees amongst the claustrophobic squalor, items of both fine art and kitsch - "'pictures with mirrors and icon-crowded sanctuaries'." In Cenotaph, Colvin makes us look at the unusual shapes and peculiar combination of items, allowing the viewer to see the objects in a different way.
Most realised prices include the Buyer's Premium of 18-25%, but not the HST/GST Tax.
