ARTIST STATEMENT
Nicolas Bourriaud views art as 'an intervening force that prompts inter-human exchange'. 1 am interested in investigating and producing experiences in which one context is bridged with another. The window in my studio space affords a stunning view of downtown Calgary. It is a compelling reminder of the city that I live in and illustrates the gap that exists between me and the heart of the city.
In the production of this piece I was driven by the poetic notion of having a perspective of City Center, that is unique to the position of my art studio space, exist within the core of which it renders. It serves as a conceptual bridge between where I am and the internal operations of the city. As consequence, I am allowed transactions with people I otherwise would have engaged only through chance.
Most realised prices include the Buyer's Premium of 18-25%, but not the HST/GST Tax.
