Zema Barbara "Bobs" Cogill Haworth was a South African-born Canadian painter and potter. She studied at the Royal College of Art in London, England and she received her degree of A.R.C.A. from the University of London. She immigrated to Toronto, Ontario in 1923. Her work often focussed on landscapes and shore scapes and abstracts. During the Second World War she went with her husband to the coast of British Columbia to record of the activities of the Canadian Armed Forces. Also at this time she contributed designs for silk screen prints under the direction of the National Gallery of Canada for distribution fo Canadian servicemen's quarters at home and abroad. Haworth gave lectures on ceramics to public institutions and taught this subject at the Toronto Central Technical School and also lectured at the University of Toronto. She was a regular exhibitor with the Royal Academy of Arts (RCA), Ontario Society of Artists (OSA), Canadian Society of Painters in Watercolour (CSPWC) and Canadian Group of Painters (CGP) among other formal and informal art groups and organizations. Her work can be found in the collections of the National Gallery of Canada, the National Gallery of South Africa, the Art Gallery of Ontario and and many others, both public and private.
