ARTIST STATEMENT
I am currently a 3rd year painting major studying at the Alberta College of Art and design. Much of my practice and inspirations comes from my environment and pop culture. Being born and raised in Calgary, when I think of the city so many things come to mind. The weather, my neighbors, downtown, the night life, the food and of course the stampede are just a few of the things that pops up. All of these events and experiences come together and creates a song in my head, a wheel of images and feelings. My inspiration for this piece came from the Calgary landscape and music. The movements and colors are all reflections of the feelings that I experience from music. Those elements come together and create a very emotional and expressive landscape.
