Anongonse Migwans Beam was born in 1980, daughter of artists Carl Beam and Ann Beam. She attended the School of the Museum of Fine Arts (Boston) in 1998, and the Ontario College of Art and Design (Toronto), the Institute of American Indian Arts (Santa Fe) and has a Masters degree from York University (Toronto). Her work can be found in the permanent collections of the Beaverbrook Art Gallery (New Brunswick), the Art Gallery of Sudbury, Art Gallery of Nova Scotia (Halifax), Museum of Contemporary Native Arts (Santa Fe) and the Royal Ontario Museum (Toronto), among others. Anong Migwans Beam lives in M'chigeeng First Nation on Manitoulin Island, Ontario.
