Andre Dufour was born in Saint-Etienne de La Malbaie in Charlevoix in 1939 and studied at Academie de Quebec, Sherbrooke University, Fine Arts in Montreal. He is best known for his works in pastel, gouache, water colour, and oil. Dufour received scholarship grants from the Cultural Affairs department (1974-1976) and the Canada Art Council (1977). His work can be found in the National Gallery of Canada, Musee du Quebec, Department of External Affairs of Canada, Canadian Broadcasting Corporation and many other public and private collections across Canada.
