This piece includes a 2016 appraisal from Susan Whitney Art Appraisals Inc with a value indicated of $725. From the University of Regina, President's Art Collection, Shumiatcher Donation. Collection of Dr. Morris C. Shumiatcher, O.C., S.O.M., Q.C. and Dr. Jacqui Clay Shumiatcher, O.C., S.O.M.

Albet Masri was born in Cairo, Egypt in 1927. He studied at a Jesuit school in Cairo and at the French High School of Cairo. He first studied medicine before devoting himself to art making. He eventually moved to France, where he settled in the Montferrier commune in southwestern France. There he became a master pastel artist, but also was a painter, sculptor and printmaker. Albert Masri died in 2020, in France.
