The American artist, Albert Kaufman, also known as Al Kaufman, was born on May 28, 1928 in Brooklyn, New York.  His parents were Louis B Kaufman, a German of Jewish heritage and Sarah Shirley Jacobs, of French and Russian heritage. They were both born in New York City and grew up in Brooklyn, New York. Louis B Kaufman was a printer, his granddaughter, Jamie followed in her grandfather's trade.Albert Kaufman died peacefully at the age of 77 years on November 25, 2005 in New City in the County of Rockland, New York, of complications from lupus and was cremated. Kaufman lived and worked in New York and is best known for his intaglio etchings and watercolours.
