Acquired in Paris by an Important Estate, Montreal, late 1970s
Notes:
Each depicting a scene from the Tales of Genji with large figures of a courtesan, courtier and young female attendant amongst graceful trees and clouds, the rim with a large band of floral brocades. Each bearing Akamaru Setsuzan’s (1827–1897) studio mark of Kanazawa Kutani.
