Ward Schell was born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. He received his art education at the Emily Carr School of Art in Vancouver, the University of Regina and the Banff School of Fine Arts. Schell has taught a variety of painting and drawing classes at the Neil Balkwill Civic Arts Centre in Regina for over twenty years and presented many workshops throughout Saskatchewan including the Emma Lake Summer Workshops at the University of Saskatchewan Kenderdine Campus. He has chaired several boards of directors including the Art Gallery of Regina, the Last Mountain Lake Cultural Centre, CARFAC Saskatchewan and the Moose Jaw Museum and Art Gallery. Ward Schell has exhibited his work in many solo and group exhibitions over the last 3 decades and his work is held in many public and private collections.
