Talis Kikauka was born in 1929 in Riga, Latvia. He immigrated to Canada in 1948 with his family and settled in Hamilton, Ontario. He earned a BA from McMaster University (Hamilton) and quickly established himself as a painter & writer. Kikauka has held solo exhibitions at the Latvian House (Hamilton), the Niagara Falls Art Gallery and Museum, The Art Gallery of Hamilton, and the Latvian Center in San Francisco. Talis Kikauka died in 2000.
