Roland Daum was born in 1962 in Regina, Saskatchewan. He attended the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design, receiving a Bachelor of Fine Art degree in 1988. He also studied at Vermont College of Norwich University, where he earned a Master of Fine Arts, and University of Regina, where he obtained a Bachelor of Education in Art. In his work, Daum is influenced by artists such as Ted Godwin, Huang Zhong Yang, Arthur McKay, Ron Shuebrook, Suzanne Funnel, Michel Oren, and Steve Kurtz. Daum's paintings include landscapes, architectural works, and abstract compositions. He has exhibited in group and solo shows across Saskatchewan and in Manitoba, Nova Scotia, and the United States. Collections in which his work can be found include Great West Life Insurance, Maritime Broadcasting (Nova Scotia), Culture Heritage & Citizenship (Manitoba), Cowan Agencies Ltd.
