Ray Keighley is a Cree artist who was born and raised in southern Alberta, but whose family roots are on the Sucker River Reserve north of Lac La Ronge, Saskatchewan. Keighley and his family moved to Saskatchewan in 1978, and he completed a Bachelor of Religious Education degree at Briercrest College in 1982, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 1988 from the University of Saskatchewan. Beyond his creative art practice, Keighley has been active as an art instructor and and workshop leader, and in 1991 was elected to the Board of Directors of CARFAC Saskatchewan. His work can be found in many corporate and public collections, including Potash Corp, the Department of Agriculture, and the Saskatchewan Arts Board.
