Rastislav Michal is a Czech painter, graphic artist and illustrator. He was born in 1936 in Teplice, Czech Republic. In 1951 he passed the entrance examination at the School of Fine Arts in Prague. There he began to familiarize himself with all art techniques, as well as typography and bookbinding. He finished the studies in 1955 and immediately thereafter he was admitted to the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague.
