Pol Chambost was a renowned French ceramist and designer known for his innovative work in the field of ceramics. Chambost began his training in the early 1920s, studying at the École des Arts Appliqués à l’industrie in Paris and taking evening classes at the École des Arts Décoratifs. He then joined his father's family marble business, where he worked as a funerary sculptor. In the mid-1930s, he discovered and began experimenting with ceramics, achieving full mastery of the medium by the end of the decade and establishing his own studio.
