Phillip Oppenheim (Opie) was born on the Coldwater Reservation near Merritt, BC in 1945. His interest in art began while while recuperating from tuberculosis and observing older patients painting and doing leatherwork. He is silk screen instructor and production manager of Longhouse Productions at the Vancouver Indian Centre.
