Sir Peter Markham Scott CH CBE DSC FRS (1909 - 1980) was the son of the Antarctic explorer Captain Robert Falcon Scott, who lost his life during an expedition the South Pole in 1911. Often called the "father of conservation", he co-founded the World Wide Fund For Nature, now known as the World Wildlife Fund, or WWF.
