SKNAC bio: Patrick Meagher was born in Regina, Saskatchewan. At age 21, worked for a year as manager of a Hudson Bay store in the High Arctic community of Cambridge Bay, in what was then the Northwest Territories. While there, he was able to learn Inuit methods of soapstone and caribou antler carving. In 1989 Meagher began studying painting and sculpture at Concordia University (Montreal) graduating with a BFA in 1994. He then moved to Whistler, BC, working in painting and sculpture (both bronze and wood) and establishing Cayoosh Bronze Works in 1995. Meagher's works have been exhibited widely across Canada, including Wallace Galleries (Calgary), Petley Jones Gallery (Vancouver) and Galerie Dickens (Montreal).
