Norman Scheelhaase was born 1954 in Cabri, Saskatchewan. He completed grade school in the small town then attended University in Regina, receiving a degree in Psychology. His practice focused on counselling, as well as holding workshops for other counsellors and professionals with his particular methods. As a visual artist, Scheelhaase worked with acrylic, oils, watercolour and drawing, as well as stained glass and sculptural pieces. He was also adept at sewing, making costumes for various occasions and up-cycling fur and mouton into teddy bears for charities. He was a longtime member of the Prairie Artist’s Guild, holding several director positions as well as teaching various techniques via workshops. Norman Scheelhaase died in 2020, in Regina, Saskatchewan.
